Beginning our journey in Aberystwyth we head inland. We travel the mountain roads passing through what used to be lead mining country and on to the Elan Valley reservoir complex. A series of five stone build dams.
We travel through the ancient market town of Llanidloes that used to be the center of the Mid Wales wool industry.
Up into the mountains to the base of a different dam wall, this time made of concrete. Stopping at a viewing point overlooking the lake itself. You never know you may even see an Osprey fishing.
We travel again via a mixture of mountain and main roads to the 19th C Lake Vyrnwy reservoir built to supply Liverpool with clean water. We will stop at the internationally famous Lake Vyrnwy Hotel with its iconic view of the lake.
We will then travel to Bala over the Berwyn Mountains this time traveling down through a classic glaciated valley before arriving at Bala and Llyn Tegid.
We will then head south to Crossfoxes.
Heading towards the ancient capital of Wales Machynlleth and in doing so we will ride passed Cader Idris and a fantastic view of Tal Y Llyn.
We will complete our tour in Aberystwyth.
