Mid Wales Tours goes carbon negative
Could I go carbon Neutral? Could I offset my carbon while running my tours? That was one of my considerations while setting up Mid Wales Tours. The vehicle I was going to use was a motorcycle. Are there any motorcycle carbon offset companies out there?
Yet another thing to research and look at.
Happily I found a company called ‘Motorcycle Offsetters’ and they exclusively dealt with carbon offsetting for motorcycle users.
Having researched the company and satisfied myself that they were a genuine company. That they had the required ethical standards and that they used the money raised to actually offset the carbon generated. I decided to take the plunge and try offsetting.
It turned out to be a lot easier than I expected. Online you pick from a long list, the vehicle you are using. You estimate the annual mileage you will do and with a click of the button your total carbon emissions are displayed.
You are then told how much the cost will be to offset those emissions. I decided to pay over and above my estimate and settled on a figure covering 150% of my estimated carbon emissions.
So all that was required was payment which duly went through.
Unbeknown to me at the time I was the first motorcycle company worldwide to go carbon negative. Can’t be bad.
