Abbey and bridges tour March 2023

Do not hesitate or think twice about going on this tour! It is a must! I originally signed up for the motorcycle sidecar Abbey and Devil’s Bridge tour but due to winter weather we had to change plans and use a car. I am glad we did, because it was snowing up at the Abbey. Sean is very knowledgeable and has obviously done his research. From the moment you begin the tour until you end, Sean is sharing any and all information you could possibly want to know about Wales and Aberystwyth. I would recommend taking this tour early in your trip as you may want to go back and further explore sights you already visited to further appreciate all that you learned. (Such as…shopping small towns, star gazing in the mountains or taking a longer walk at the base of Devil’s bridge) I highly recommend using Sean as a tour guide. You will not be disappointed! Sean was prompt with replying to emails, picking me up and accommodating the tour to my wants. Five star.

I honestly can’t recommend Mid Wales Tours enough. We absolutely had the best day.
We felt at ease with Sean straight away and felt completely safe the whole time.
The tour was amazing. From the stunning scenery to Sean’s fantastic knowledge of the area and a stop for coffee & cake along the way at a beautiful spot.
To ride in a side car has been on my wish list for years and I wasn’t disappointed – I didn’t want the tour to end!

Mid Wales tours is a unique experience in every way! Not only did we get to see a breathtakingly beautiful and secret corner of Wales but we also got to see it in total style!!

At the same time, our guide Sean was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, funny and kind but also tailored the tour to our interests!

We felt safe every step of the way and Sean got out of his way to make us comfortable. He exceeded all our expectations by far, so would definitely recommend to anyone wanting an unique experience in a beautiful part of the world!!!

Having ridden with Sean in Wales a few times a year for more than15 years and also on trips to Scotland and a charity event to Tuscany, every ride has been a privilege.

Sean has the uncanny knack of assessing the weather and choosing routes to avoid the “Welsh mist” so leading you on dry roads in the sunshine.

I have known Sean for about 10 years, and he is the ‘go to’ guy whenever we ride in Wales. I belong to the largest Advanced Motorcycling Club in the UK and Sean acts as a Consultant to our Observers having previously been a Police Class 1 Rider. As an ex Welsh Traffic Cop, he has an intimate knowledge of the road network in the most beautiful area of the UK known as Wales. You only have to view the Visit Wales Web Site to see how beautiful this land is with its stunning mountain ranges, green lush valleys and a warm welcome. We have always tended to cover Mid and North Wales as the Southern area starts to get more built up. His knowledge extends beyond the road network to most of the best Cafes, Restaurants and places to stay. Overlay this with his reading of the daily weather forecast and he is bound to avoid any rain, well hopefully…..

Sean’s credentials speak for themselves and if you are thinking of booking a day or more with him, I would say ‘go ahead’, you may even see a Welsh Dragon!

Sean is a legend within the Advanced riding circles. No matter how much you think you know he will develop your riding to a much higher standard than is delivered by any of the recognised organisations. He combines training with showing you unlisted vistas, via coffee and cake stop of Wales that will blow your mind.

I was lucky enough to get two motorbike training sessions in 2020 and can’t recommend HIM strongly ENOUGH.
I’ve been riding motorcycles for over 10 years, have my advanced IAM license and wanted the next level of skill and polish, as my objectives for the training. From the very first chat and booking, Sean was incredibly accommodating and flexible, on arrangements. Given his background of 30 years as a highly trained Welsh Police motorcyclist, it was no surprise to see how smoothly and easily Sean picked up on the key areas of improvement to work on, his craft know-how was 2nd to none, I felt pushed to step up a level but always within my limits. His ability to impart knowledge in a clear but enjoyable way made for each of the days being entertaining; and knowledge of the most superb roads and local history made for a few the best biking days, I’ve ever had.

Whether for motorcycle tours or training, I’m fairly confident that anyone booking, would not be disappointed and crave for more.
In brief, I can’t wait for the lock down to relax as I will be amongst the first to visit Sean again.

A unique and fabulous way to see the stunning scenery of Mid Wales.

After a warm welcome, Sean kitted us out with helmets, earpieces etc. before we headed off on the brand new Triumph and sidecar combination through and along the prom at Aberystwyth.

He delivered great commentary clearly through the earpieces, pointing out lots of features in the landscape such as the old mining works and their water supply leats in Cwmystwyth. We went along quieter roads over the moors and dropped down into the Elan valley through stunning scenery. Sean was a great guide, with decades of experience of the roads of mid Wales. As well as his deep knowledge of the history of the area, Sean kept us entertained with plenty of anecdotes.

This innovative style of tour raised many smiles from passers by and has a great ‘open air’ feel to it – highly recommended!

Booked the half day Cambrian tour for my other half- had to cancel the original date because of Storm Eunice but Sean was really accommodating about planning a new date.
The tour was fab…Sean is really knowledgeable about lots of different aspects of the area. The scenery was stunning & the route well planned to show parts of mid Wales you may not know about. Couple of lovely stops en route….a beautiful Chapel & a lovely coffee stop.
I enjoyed the opportunity to travel in a side car…& the smiles & waves as we passed lots of people.
